Sounds Of The Windrush, Human Library @ Circomedia.

St Paul’s Carnival kindly invites you to Windrush Day for an evening of storytelling exploring the impact of the Windrush Generation on the Bristol music scene – from the Carnival vibes of Soca to the beats that have influenced Dubstep and Drum & Bass.

Inspired by the concept of Human Libraries and our previously popular Library events, our guest speakers will become ‘human books’, representing a key part of Bristol’s musical heritage. These musical legends will share their knowledge and experience of being part of groundbreaking music scenes in the South West & beyond.

Our speakers include DJ Style, Dazee, Big D (Jah Lokko) and Pinch. Delicious Jamaican food will also be provided by Jamaican Hideaway.

Learn, talk and listen with the community with this special opportunity to highlight Windrush and revisit the impact Black Britain has had on our music scene and beyond.

This takes place on Saturday 22nd June, 6pm @ Circomedia, St Paul’s Church, Portland Sq, Bristol, BS2 8SJ.  Tickets from the link below https://www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/circomedia/sat-22-jun-sounds-of-windrush-human-library-110049#e110049
